Today on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler, we're doing the test fit on the Yakima SpareRide 2. This is a folding, two-bike rack, designed to mount right on the spare tire, here. Part number on it is Y02599. Now, this bike rack is going to hold two bikes up to 35 pounds. Something that I think is really nice, the provided cable lock that's going to come with it, 63 1/4 inches long. It's going to allow us to get through both of our rims, our sub-frame on both of our bikes. Now, they provide two keys with this. more

Hollywood Racks SR2 Spare Tire Bike Racks Review - 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we've got out the Hollywood Racks SR2 and we're test fitting it. Now the SR2 is a spare tire-mounted 2-bike rack. This has been designed to fit on most size tires anywhere from the 215 on up to the 12-1/2"-wide tires. Part number on it is HRSR2. It that's a nice job holding the bike in place. We've got two cradles here that do the job here on the top frame tube, and the incorporated strap will then go around your wheels, keep them from spinning and moving around while you head down the road. Since it does mount to the spare tire, we're still get to have access to get into the cargo area there. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we'll be doing a test-fit of the Yakima SpareRide 2 - Spare Tire Mounted Bike Rack, part number Y02599. We've already got it loaded up on our Jeep just to give you a good idea of what it's going to look like. It secures our bike in three spots. We have two zip strips for our top two tube here and then one zip strip for our down tube. The one for our down tube is going to be our anti-sway. That's going to help prevent a lot of the sway and movement in the bike from side-to-side as well as prevent bike to vehicle contact and bike to bike contact. We'll go ahead and remove those and then take off our bike. They're really easy to use. more

Now we've already taken our tire off and we placed our metal plate in place. We followed the instructions for that so just double-check. Make sure that's the right way for your vehicle. Saris Freedom Spare Tire Bike Racks Review - 2016 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Today on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler, we've got the Saris Freedom Spare Tire Mounted Platform Style 2 Bike Rack out. We're test fitting it to let you see how it fits on the Wrangler. This is part number SA999TB. This spare tire rack is going to mount with the plate behind your spare tire, uses all the existing lug nuts, so it's really easy to get it installed, and it offers us a platform style rack, which we don't often see with the spare tire bike racks. We've got 3 points of contact that are going to hold the bike. Got a front cradle with strap, a rear cradle with strap, and also our center frame cradle strap here. It really does a good job of immobilizing the bike, keeps them from moving back and forth that we might get from some of those hanging style rack, might get some more sway out of those. To remove our bike, we're just going to release our straps. more

Saris Freedom SuperClamp Spare Tire Mounted 2 Bike Rack Review- Video
Today we're going to be taking at look at the Saris Freedom Super Clamp Spare Tire Mounted 2 Bike Rack. This is part number SA4025TB. The Saris Freedom Super Clamp Spare Tire Mounted bike rack is the perfect solution for the bikes that we just don't want any frame contact with. It's going to use two clamps, one on the rear, one on the front tire here, also a backup strap down in our wheel cradle to hold our bikes in place without ever having any issues with rubbing, or anything like that. The hooks themselves, these are ratcheting, as we move it down we've got tons of different positions to where we can get that secured in. The same for our arms, release that for a second, they're going to come all the way down but as we move them in we can hear the clicks, anywhere along there we're able to set it in and we won't have to worry about it moving back. That's going to give us, again, a lot of options for different styles and sizes of bikes. With the fully adjustable wheel cradles that we have here at the bottom These are going to adjust in and out on both sides. more

The part number on it HRSR2. It uses two rubber straps, forgot the word out there, two rubber straps to hold our bike into place. It does a good job of it, kind of like a chain link style, nice and flexible. more

This is going to be your hanging style 2 bike rack that's going to be mounted to your spare tire bracket. As you can see we've already got this one up here on our vehicle and loaded. It's going to be part number TH963PRO. We're going to go over a couple of things real quick before we show you how this comes off and goes together. First thing we're going to go over is the distance that sticks out from the back of the vehicle when the cradle arms are extended and your bike is on it. It looks like it's going to be about 22 1/2 inches that extends off the back in the vehicle with the ground clearance of 26 1/2 inches. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Hollywood Racks SR2 2 bike carrier. This would be your carrier for your spare tire mount. It's going to be part #HRSR2. As you can see, we do have it mounted up here on our vehicle attached to the spare tire and we already have our bike mounted on here so you can see how it looks and fits. We're going to get a couple measurements out of the way first and that's going to be what is the distance with the cradle arms extended that extends off the end of the vehicle as well as the ground clearance from the bottom side. To answer that question it's going to be about 21-1/2" that it extends off the end of the vehicle. more

Saris Freedom Spare Tire Bike Racks Review - 1997 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Today on our 1997 Jeep Wrangler, we're going to be doing a test fit rather of the Saris Freedom Spare Tire Mounted Bike Rack. This is a platform style rack as you can see. We've got three points of contact holding the bike, we have a front wheel strap, rear wheel strap and the frame cradle strap right here in the middle. All of these are operated with a cam buckle style release, see here you're going to have a, there is strap to where the teeth in that can catch on and something I do like about it is that we can actually use it as kind of a lever as well to kind of pull down and gain some extra strength there, some extra holding power. To release your bike, you'll release that strap and your two others. There is a nice little cabby there to tuck them down and to keep them out of the way. more

This one has a smart owner and he's put a wheel lock on the lower one to hold his spare, so we'll remove that first. Set that aside. Today, we'll be demonstrating the Thule Spare Me 2-Bike Carrier - Spare Tire Mount, part number TH963PRO. Now, the Spare Me will allow you to carry two bikes of different sizes and styles. Today on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, well be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Spare Tire Mount SR2 2 Bike Carrier, part number HRSR2. Now with our spare tire removed from the vehicle and our center cap taken out of the spare tire, well place the black backplate of the carrier onto the lug studs. Well then pick up our spare tire and slide the spare tire onto our Wranglers lug studs. Well then replace the lug nuts and tighten it down using a wrench. This will secure the backplate of the carrier to the vehicle. Well now place the carrier onto the vehicle by sliding the open tube onto the square tube of the backplate then using one of the included bolts; well thread through the carrier and tighten it down with the included wrench. This will secure the carrier to the vehicle. more

Hollywood Racks SR2 Spare Tire Mount Bike Rack Review - 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today on this 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Spare Tire Rack, part number HRSR2. The first thing we need to do is remove the spare tire from the spare tire mount at the back of our Jeep, then well take our backing plate, fit it over the studs of our spare tire carrier, and reinstall the spare tire. With our spare tire installed, we'll select the proper adapter for the bike rack to accommodate the vehicle's spare tire, then we'll slide it in place over the mount then we'll take the appropriate length of the bolt to secure the carrier to the mount. Then we'll install our locking cover over that bolt. With our bike rack securely mounted, we can prepare to load a bike. We'll swing out the two bike rack arms and we'll also make sure that the rubber straps over the cradles closest to the vehicle are undone. more

Today in this 1999 Jeep Wrangler, we are going to do a test fit of part number TH963xtr from Thule and one thing to know about this bicycle rack is that you do need temporarily remove the spare tire to install the mounting plate. Then you can go ahead and reinstall the spare tire and thats how we are going to install our test fit. Next, well go ahead, and install the bike rack onto the adaptor and install the locking knob. Well adjust the pads on the bike rack to make sure they sit on top of the tire and then well go ahead and tighten down the locking knob. All right, thats what it takes to install the bike rack. Okay, with the bike rack installed we can go ahead and load up a bike. more

Today on our 2006 Jeep Liberty well be test fitting the Thule Spare Me 2 Bike Carrier Spare Tire Mount, part number TH963XTR. And to begin our test fit well need to remove the spare tire from the vehicle and with the spare tire off well also need to remove the center cap from the spare tire. We can then place the adapter plate onto the spare tire mount and reinstall our spare tire. With our spare tire back tight, we can then place our bike rack up and using the knob well tighten it down. That will secure our bike rack to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and undo the knobs to bring out our dual arms. more

Now, we've gone ahead and removed the spare tire as the mount will be located underneath the spare. So we'll go ahead and install our bike rack mount. We can then reinstall our spare. We will want to make sure that we knock the center cap out of the wheel as the mount does pass through it. And with our mount in and our spare tire reattached, we can go ahead and slide our bike rack into position and tighten it down using the black knob. more

Today on our 2009 Toyota RAV4, we're going to do a test of the Thule Spare Me 2 Bike Carrier, part number TH963XTR. Where we can install our carrier, we've already gone ahead and removed the spare tire cover. Now let's go ahead and remove the spare tire so that we can fit our adaptor plate. Now that we have the spare tire off, we'll go ahead and fit on our adaptor plate and then reinstall the spare tire. With this spare tire reinstalled, we can now go ahead and slide on our bike carrier and tying it down with the locking knob. With the tightening knob tying down and in the locked position, our carrier is now secured to the vehicle. more
